My name is Ana Lucia Rivera. I was born on March 15, 1992, in the small coastal town known as the "Spanish Village by the Sea," San Clemente, California. I'm of Spanish descent, my mom is from Madrid, and my dad is from Mijas (Málaga). When I was 5, my parents and I moved permanently to Madrid after many back-and-forth trips.
I come from a normal family. My mom was a stay-at-home mom who worked with food before I was born, and my dad was a constructor, among many other things. Afterwards, they got into the hospitality business, opening a small hotel. I am the youngest child. I have an older brother and an older sister. I had a perfect childhood. I was raised with a lot of love and under the protection of my parents, whom I adore. And although I lived a simple and organic life, I always had everything I needed and wanted.
Since the age of 5, I have been passionate about horse riding. I practiced show jumping and competed in some events, nothing serious. At the age of 15, I was scouted by a modeling agent during an equestrian event on the outskirts of Madrid. Less than a year after meeting the agent, at age 16, I started working officially as a model. During the first year of my career, I worked only in Madrid. Then, when I was 17, I went international, and besides booking jobs in Madrid, I also booked jobs around Europe. I was doing very well, but I didn't drop out of school. I finished vocational high school and graduated as a Commercial Technician. That means that, besides being a model, I'm also a professional saleswoman who understands the business side.
When I turned 18 and graduated, I decided to pursue modeling full-time and go to New York to try my luck there. After three months in New York, I decided to go back to Madrid because things in New York didn't go the way I wanted. I was doing jobs here and there, but there wasn’t much going on, and I hated it. But during those three months, I grew as a person and realized how lucky and privileged I am. After returning to Madrid, I continued with my modeling career. There were opportunities and opportunities. I started attending social and fashion events as a guest. I didn't go back to New York until 2012, when I also went to work in Los Angeles for the first time
After two very busy years, in mid-September 2012, I decided to take a break because I needed to rest. I went on a long vacation to San Clemente with my parents. And one month later, I met the man of my life during a trip to Los Angeles to celebrate my best friend's birthday, who was joining me and my parents on our vacation because she is family. We kept seeing each other, and little by little, things developed between us. I postponed my return to Madrid and lived for a couple of months in San Clemente, working only in Los Angeles. When it was time to go back to Madrid, my partner came with me, and we got married in the summer of 2013. I continued my career, and although there were some stretches of not working, which is normal when you're a model, I didn't stop working for the next 12 years straight.
After 12 years of modeling, I decided to put my career on pause to focus on my personal life and grow it. But offers didn't stop coming, and over time I started to miss modeling, I started to miss Ana Lucia, the model. So after almost 2 years of being inactive, I decided to go back to modeling under different terms than when I was a teen, when I was younger. Since then, I've done some modeling jobs, and I will continue doing modeling work that I can combine well with my private life.
Despite being a model, I'm a simple girl, and I'm the happiest and the most comfortable at my home, which has always been my safe place, my little bubble, a cocoon, being with my loved ones, cuddling with my cats, riding my horse, and enjoying the simple things, small things, the things that really matter. And with opening this blog, #AnaLuciaRevealed, I relaunched myself into the world of blogging, because I love writing, and because I want you guys to feel closer to me and to know me better.
Mi nombre es Ana Lucia Rivera. Nací el 15 de marzo de 1992 en un pequeño ciudad costero también conocido como "El Pueblo Español junto al Mar", San Clemente, California. Soy de ascendencia española: mi mamá es de Madrid y mi papá de Mijas (Málaga). Cuando tenía 5 años, mis padres y yo nos mudamos definitivamente a Madrid, después de muchos viajes de ida y vuelta.
Vengo de una familia normal. Mi mamá era ama de casa y antes de que yo naciera trabajaba con comida, y mi papá era constructor, entre muchas otras cosas. Más tarde, entraron al negocio de la hostelería y abrieron un pequeño hotel. Soy la menor. Tengo un hermano mayor y una hermana mayor. Tuve una infancia perfecta. Estaba criada con mucho amor y bajo la protección de mis padres, a quienes adoro. Y aunque vivía una vida sencilla y orgánica, siempre tuve todo lo que necesitaba y quería.
Desde los 5 años, me apasiona la equitación. Practiqué salto de obstáculos y competí en algunos eventos, nada serio. A los 15 años, fui descubierta por una agente de modelos durante un evento ecuestre en las afueras de Madrid. Menos de un año después de conocer a la agente, a los 16 años, comencé a trabajar oficialmente como modelo. Durante el primer año de mi carrera, trabajé solo en Madrid. cuando tenía 17 años, me internacionalicé y, además de los trabajos en Madrid, también hacía trabajos por toda Europa. Me iba muy bien, pero no dejé la escuela. Terminé la escuela vocacional secundaria, y me gradué como Técnica Comercial. Eso significa que, además de ser modelo, también soy una vendedora profesional que entiende el negocio
Cuando cumplí 18 años y me gradué, decidí dedicarme al modelaje a tiempo completo y fui a Nueva York para probar suerte allí. Después de tres meses en Nueva York, decidí volver a Madrid porque las cosas en Nueva York no salieron como yo quería. Estaba haciendo trabajos aquí y allá, pero no pasaba mucho, y lo odiaba. Pero durante esos tres meses, crecí como persona y me di cuenta de lo afortunada y privilegiada que soy. Al regresar a Madrid, continué con mi carrera de modelaje. Surgieron oportunidades tras oportunidades. Empecé a asistir a eventos sociales y de moda como invitada. No volví a Nueva York hasta 2012, cuando también fui a trabajar a Los Ángeles por primera vez.
Después de dos años muy ocupados, a mediados de septiembre de 2012, decidí tomar un descanso porque necesitaba descansar. Me fui de vacaciones largas a San Clemente con mis padres. Y un mes después, conocí al hombre de mi vida durante un viaje a Los Ángeles para celebrar el cumpleaños de mi mejor amiga, que nos acompañaba a mí y a mis padres en nuestras vacaciones porque es como de la familia. Seguimos viéndonos, y poco a poco las cosas se fueron desarrollando entre nosotros. Aplazé mi regreso a Madrid y viví un par de meses en San Clemente, trabajando solo en Los Ángeles. Cuando llegó el momento de regresar a Madrid, mi pareja vino conmigo, y nos casamos en el verano de 2013. Continué con mi carrera, y aunque hubo algunos periodos sin trabajar, lo cual es normal cuando eres modelo, no dejé de trabajar durante los siguientes 12 años consecutivos.
Después de 12 años de modelaje, decidí poner mi carrera en pausa para enfocarme en mi vida personal y hacerla crecer. Pero las ofertas no dejaron de llegar, y con el tiempo empecé a extrañar el modelaje, empecé a extrañar a Ana Lucia, la modelo. Así que, después de casi 2 años de inactividad, decidí volver al modelaje bajo términos diferentes a los de cuando era adolescente. Desde entonces, he hecho algunos trabajos de modelaje, y continuaré haciendo trabajos que pueda combinar bien con mi vida privada.
A pesar de ser modelo, soy una chica sencilla, y soy la más feliz y la más cómoda en casa, que siempre ha sido mi lugar seguro, mi pequeña burbuja, un capullo, estando con mis seres queridos, abrazando a mis gatos, montando a mi caballo y disfrutando de las cosas simples, pequeñas, de las cosas que realmente importan. Y con la apertura de este blog, #AnaLuciaRevealed, me relancé en el mundo del blogging, porque me encanta escribir y porque quiero que ustedes se sientan más cerca de mí y me conozcan mejor.
